Dr.Praveen Uddhav
Tabla Artist
Dr.Praveen Uddhav was born on 24th July 1971 in a family of musicians in Ujjain. He has received his early lesson in Tabla from his father Pt.Manohar Uddhav. Later he took his advanced Gharanedar training in Tabla from Ustad Jamal Khan Saheb of Jaipur and Pt.Suresh Talwalkar of Mumbai.
Dr.Praveen has performed widely all over the country as a Solo Performer and also accompanied various senior artists and received wide appreciation all over the country for his smooth and easy flow of fingering and good aesthetic sense.
Dr.Praveen is a B-High Grade Artist and regular performer of All India Radio and Doordarshan Kendra, Indore.
At present Dr.Praveen is working as a senior Lecturer in Tabla in the Department of Instrumental Music, Faculty of Performing Arts, Banaras Hindu University.
Academically Dr.Praveen is a Ph.D in Tabla, B.Sc and M.A from Vikram University, B.Music and M.Music in Tabla with First Division from Indira Kala Sangeet Viswa Vidyalaya, Khairagarh, Sangeet Prabhakar in Vocal Music.
Dr.Praveen is having a huge collection of bandishes and playing Techniques of six tabla Gharanas. He has done some special study on the Aesthetical Aspects and Playing techniques of some renowned Tablist. He has also done a good research on the modern Teaching and Playing techniques, Easy Baithak and studies on difficult Tihayees.
